Calum was appointed chief executive of NHS Lothian in June 2020. He has previously worked in within NHS Scotland and held various Director posts within Scotland and Wales. As acting CEO at Swansea NHS Trust, he turned around a £12.5m financial deficit through clinical redesign initiatives, and went on to achieve a further £15.5m savings in the following year. 

In January 2010 Calum returned to the Scottish NHS system and was appointed chief executive of NHS Borders. Following this, he became CEO of NHS Lanarkshire in 2015, before moving to NHS Lothian. 

Until 2013, Bob was the chief engineer for Openreach. In this role, he was responsible for the strategy and design of the access network that connects homes and businesses in the UK. This involved setting the vision and strategy, defining planning policies, making the business case, and bringing forward innovative solutions. At Openreach he was chair of the diversity forum and the disability and inclusion champion. 

Bob became a trustee of Enable Scotland in 2011 and the chair of the board of trustees in 2015.  

In 2020, Bob represented the Engage at Police Scotland’s independent regional ethics advisory panel. Bob welcomed the opportunity to input into this critical process on behalf of Enable, the people we support and our members. 

Karen is a Director at Livingston James, an executive search and selection business She is responsible for driving growth across all of the organisation’s brands. 

A chartered fellow of the CIPD, Karen has over 12 years’ experience in the recruitment industry, previously as managing director of Hudson, UKI and Middle East operations. She spent seven years running the Scottish Hudson business and, in that capacity, has extensive experience, within higher and further education. 

Prior to her career in recruitment, Karen worked in various international organisations in senior HR roles. She was primarily responsible for talent management, succession planning, organisational development, and transformation. 

Duncan is the founder and managing director of The Tannahill Partnership Ltd. He works with a range of strategic thinking specialists to deliver client solutions focused on growth, results and changed behaviour. He is a certified business and executive coach and accredited in the use of the Life Orientations® total person assessment and analysis system. 

In his previous role as chief executive of Glasgow Chamber of Commerce, Duncan was responsible for introducing major change to the organisation’s culture and customer relationships. He also oversaw the development of new products and services to support the business community. 

His contribution to the City of Glasgow was recognised by Glasgow City Council in 2004 when they awarded him their inaugural ‘Gold Medal for Enterprise’. 

Margaret is head of the technology enabled care and digital healthcare innovation division within the Scottish Government. She is responsible for the national technology enabled care (TEC) programme which supports deployment of proven technologies in Scotland. Margaret also leads the international engagement team for digital health and care for Scotland. 

Until November 2015, Margaret was director of the Joint Improvement Team (JIT) in Scotland having joined when it was established in 2005. 

Margaret trained as a clinical psychologist and worked in clinical and managerial positions in the NHS for many years. From 1998, she worked in a national capacity with the Scottish Health Advisory Services (latterly NHS Quality Improvement Scotland) and as a commissioner with the Mental Welfare Commission for Scotland. 

Margaret previously appeared in the top 10 of the UK’s Digital Leader of the Year Awards. 

Chris is an experienced public policy professional based in the UK, with a focus on technology and the internet. Throughout his professional career, he has spent time working at the centre of government, in consulting, in think tanks and non-profits, and in the tech sector. 

Chris is director of public policy, northern Europe at Meta. He was previously an executive director at the Tony Blair Institute and a general manager at Uber. His career spans a range of public, private and third sector organisations including McKinsey & Co., Policy Exchange, SCVO, HM Treasury, and the Cabinet Office. 

Since graduating from the University of Glasgow (UoG) in 2000 (LLB Hons), Rupa has been passionate about equity, diversity and inclusion within the Scottish legal profession. She has specialised in employment law since 2003 at MacRoberts LLP and practised as a solicitor until she became director of people and development in 2017. 

Rupa is particularly focussed on increasing the representation of individuals from ethnically diverse backgrounds within the Scottish legal sector. In her current role, and as a member of the Law Society of Scotland’s equality and diversity committee, Rupa has presented at a number of conferences including UoG’s ‘100 years of women in law’ and events by ENEI (Employer’s Network for Equality and Inclusion) and SEMLA (Scottish Ethnic Minorities Lawyers Association). 

Rupa sits on Action for Children’s Scotland committee and is a regular contributor on BBC Radio Scotland. She volunteers at her local Gurdwara every week as a Panjabi school teacher, helping children aged 6-10 to read, write and speak Panjabi. She also hosts her own music show on a local community radio station every Sunday.
